Located in a peaceful setting near Hosford, Florida.

The WOW Richard W. Ervin Youth Camp
is A.C.A. accredited.

During the summer, we have camp for young boys and girls ages 8-15.  The young people come from the state of Florida.

We also have family outings and senior camps.  We also make the facility available to local schools and have several schools use the facility's climbing wall and ropes course.

At the property, we have many facilities including a swimming pool, boys and girls dormitories, kitchen and dining hall, staff dormitory, nurse quarter and storage buildings.

Youth Activities

Woodmen has been working with young people for more than 100 years. Although the world has changed dramatically during the past century, the basic core of our Youth Program has remained the same: it's all about helping kids grow up to be and do their best. Our Youth Program is about learning civic responsibility; acquiring new skills that develop self-confidence; and helping others in any way possible. And, throughout the program, we emphasize strong family and moral values.

Youth Educational
Activity Programs

Don't let the title "Educational Programs" scare you – this isn't school. It's about trying new things, learning new skills, and maybe even getting hooked on a new hobby. Through the Woodmen programs, kids discover what they like, what they don't like, what they're good at and what they may want to do when they grow up.

Woodmen offers educational programs
and activities in the following areas:

Americanism
Archery
Bicycling
Camping
First Aid
Fishing
Hiking
Nature Study
Physical Fitness
Summer Camp
Swimming

Youth Programs

Being a Woodmen youth member means non-stop adventure! From surviving the Ga-Ga Pit at youth camp to learning basic aid training from the Red Cross to building lasting friendships and developing self-confidence, Woodmen's youth programs serve as a solid foundation for successful lives.

Each program and activity is designed to develop the physical, social, intellectual and emotional well being of youth members. Activities also support the basic philosophy of the youth program – fostering love and respect for God, country, body and mind.

These programs are fun for the youth members to complete, and provide them the opportunity to earn a variety of awards designed to recognize their hard work. Woodmen's youth program can be very rewarding for all involved.

Youth Community
Service Projects

Young people have the power to make a difference in their communities. Through volunteer and community service projects sponsored by Woodmen youth lodges, youth members get "hands on" experience helping their neighbors and improving the places where they live and play.

Before starting any community service project, youth and adult lodges work together to assess the needs of their community. Youth members decide where their interests lie, and where they can make the most impact.

Service projects can be as small as doing a favor for a neighbor, as large as helping build a new park in the community. Some youth lodges choose an issue that concerns the group, and design a project to address the issue. Other lodges pick projects based on skills they want to learn or specific people they want to help. Youth members learn valuable leadership and organizational skills while planning these projects. They are also encouraged to partner with other community organizations to maximize their resources and talent.

Volunteering in the community can give young people a sense of purpose and help them understand their place in the world. They become more compassionate to others' problems, and more appreciative of the life they live.
